Who is responsible for your information

What we collect, and why
When you book: your name, email address, phone number, the dates and apartment, how many guests, your estimated arrival time and anything you write in the message box. We need this to give you the apartment and to be able to reach you about your stay.
When you use the contact form: your name, email address, and anything else you choose to tell us, so that we can answer you.
We do not buy personal information, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
Card payments
Card payments are taken by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are never seen, handled or stored by us. Stripe tells us only that a payment succeeded, for how much, and the email address you gave them.
Who else sees it
Your booking is held in Smoobu, the system we use to manage the apartments and the calendars. Our email provider carries the messages we send you. Cleaners are told which apartment to clean and when, and are not given your name or contact details.
When you use the assistant on your stay page, what you write and what it answers are sent to Google (Gemini), who run the model behind it. It is given the details of your own booking so that it can answer about it. On the plan we use, Google (Gemini) may keep that conversation and use it to improve their own products, and their staff may read it. Please don't write anything there you wouldn't want read by them — email us instead, and we'll answer that way.
We will share information where the law requires it, and no further.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept for 7 years, because tax and accounting rules require it. Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted after 24 months.
Cookies
This website sets a cookie to remember the language you chose, and cookies that keep staff signed in to the parts of the site they use. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking. Stripe sets its own cookies on its payment page, which is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to contact@gibhavens.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority, which oversees data protection in Gibraltar.
